Son of former CPM Malappuram district secretary found dead in Palakkad hotel

PALAKKAD: Dhyan Mohanan, 38, son of former CPM Malappuram district secretary E.N. Mohandas, was found dead in a hotel room in Palakkad. Dhyan had taken a room at Deepakam Inn at Palayapet on August 6. Hotel staff went to the room on Sunday morning to deliver breakfast, but there was no response. When the door remained unopened until evening, the staff became suspicious and opened it using a spare key, only to find Dhyan dead inside.

The body has been kept at the mortuary of the Palakkad District Hospital. The Palakkad Town South police are taking further action. Police suspect that Dhyan died by suicide, according to their preliminary assessment. The funeral will be held at 4 pm on Monday.

Dhyan Mohanan's mother is K. Geetha, a retired teacher at P.M.S.A.M Higher Secondary School, Chemmankadavu. His sister is Dr Divya Mohan.
