Indian Navy joins search for Gautham Krishna in Neendakara; Diving begins

KOCHI: The Indian Navy has also joined in the search for Gautham Krishna, who went missing after a fishing boat capsized in Neendakara. The Indian Navy’s high-speed patrol vessel, INS Kalpeni, which departed from Kochi last night to intensify the search in the deep sea, is presently anchored about one nautical mile off the Neendakara coast.

A specially trained diving team of the navy is on board the ship. It is reported that Navy divers have started searching at the points hinted by the marine enforcement boat. The team is also using portable sonar technology to increase the underwater surveillance capability and efficiency of the search.

Gautham Krishna went missing ten days ago after his fishing boat capsized. The bodies of Gautham's father and grandfather, who were on the boat at the time of the accident, were found earlier. Gautham's mother Reshma protested at the police station demanding navy’s help for the search. Following the intervention of Union Minister Suresh Gopi and the district administration, the Navy also became part of the mission.
