KANNUR: Former DYFI activist and gold smuggling case accused Arjun Ayanki has responded to CPM state secretariat member M.V. Jayarajan’s remarks against him through a Facebook post.

Ayanki said he had been part of the party before it decided to distance itself from him. He said he had spent time in jail after risking his life to retaliate when a fellow party worker was attacked five kilometres away. He also claimed that he was jailed in false cases for speaking out and raising his voice during the party’s difficult times.

Ayanki said he did not expect even one per cent of the support Jayarajan had shown to a Congress worker who had attacked party workers in Mayyil and was later beaten by the police. He said he was not seeking the party’s support and only asked it not to ‘stab him in the back’
