No orders to shoot Ayanki; Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala responds

PALAKKAD: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala denied reports that he instructed police to shoot Arjun Ayanki in case of an emergency. The minister added that the Home Department has not given any instructions to shoot in connection with the arrest of Arjun Ayanki. When asked about Arjun Ayanki's self-aggrandising Facebook posts, Ramesh Chennithala brushed it off, saying that is what local goons often do.

The minister also said that the police are conducting a massive search for Arjun Ayanki, a criminal case accused who went absconding after threatening the police and the Home Department.

Meanwhile, it is reported that the police still have no information about Arjun Ayanki's whereabouts. It is also learnt that Ayanki has started a move for anticipatory bail. The police are trying to arrest Ayanki before he gets a favourable verdict from the court. The High Court had rejected the bail plea of ​​Arjun Ayanki, who is absconding, for issuing threats to Kothamangalam Inspector Prashanth Kumar.
