Two killed, several critically injured after KSRTC bus overturns en route to Bengaluru

KSRTC bus involved in accident

BENGALURU: A KSRTC bus plying from Kozhikode to Bengaluru overturned midway, killing both the driver and conductor. A KSRTC Super Deluxe Airbus from Kozhikode depot met with an accident on the Mysore-Bangalore National Highway at Bitathi. Around 20 passengers in the bus are seriously injured. They are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The accident took place at around 6.45 am today. The bus, bearing the number KL15 A 1963, overturned. The bus hit a pole of a board installed on the roadside and overturned. It is suspected that the driver may have fallen asleep. Traffic on the National Highway has been disrupted following the accident. All vehicles are being diverted to a one-way route. The police and residents jointly carried out the rescue operation.
