‘No goon should have the courage to challenge, Kerala has a smart police force,’ says ADGP P Vijayan

KANNUR: ADGP P Vijayan, who is in charge of law and order, hits back at Arjun Ayanki, who challenged the police. He said that no goon should have the courage to challenge the police. He was speaking to the media after the police arrested Arjun Ayanki in a criminal case.

‘Arjun Ayanki had repeatedly challenged the police and had grown beyond a certain limit is merely his own belief. Once the police realised this, began taking all necessary legal steps to bring him under control. What happened in the early hours of Sunday is the culmination of those efforts,’ he said.

The police would examine the possibility of invoking KAAPA (Kerala Anti-Social Activities Prevention Act) against Arjun Ayanki, along with other legal provisions. There are many other cases against Ayanki as well. No goon should have the courage to challenge the police in this manner. Doing so is equivalent to challenging the society itself,’ added the ADGP.

A list of criminals and of those posing a threat to people's lives and property has been made. He also clarified that an operation against that list has started.
