Upset over transfer, senior clerk dies after consuming rat poison

KASARGOD: A senior clerk of the Kasargod collectorate, who was under treatment after consuming rat position, has died. The dead is Asha (41) of Ethirthod. She consumed the poison on Friday while in office. Although she was admitted to the hospital in a weak condition, she died while undergoing treatment in the ICU.

She was transferred to the endosulfan cell from the revenue department. Initial reports said that she was under depression following the transfer. A case has been registered and a detailed investigation has started. The police have recorded the statements of her colleagues and family. The body will be handed over to her relatives after postmortem.
