THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: RSS sympathiser T G Mohandas, who was arrested for his defamatory remarks against students who staged a protest in Delhi, was produced before the court after undergoing a medical examination. SFI activists gathered outside the court and staged a protest, waving black flags against Mohandas.
The police submitted a remand report against T G Mohandas in the court. He has been charged with offences including insulting the dignity of women and inciting riot. The police have sought his custody. Reports say the reason for not summoning him by notice was the possibility that he might go into hiding or destroy evidence.
The remand report states that, after collecting evidence required for the case, police searched T G Mohandas’s house in Kochi yesterday in the presence of independent witnesses and took him into custody. The police have requested custody on the grounds that if the accused is released, there is a possibility that he may destroy evidence or influence witnesses.
