Woman dies after arm fat removal surgery; family alleges medical negligence 

THIRUVALLA: A 45-year-old woman who was in a critical condition following a surgery to remove fat from her arm, has died. The victim is V G Vidya of Puthupparambil, Mundukuzhi, Venkotta. Her relatives have filed a complaint with the Thiruvalla police alleging that the death was caused by negligence during the surgery performed at a private clinic in Thiruvalla.

The surgery was performed on September 16. Her health condition deteriorated after that and she was admitted to a private medical college hospital in Thiruvalla. She died last night while undergoing treatment.

However, the private clinic authorities denied any medical negligence. They said Vidya suffered a heart attack during the surgery, which led to the deterioration of her health.

She leaves behind her husband S Santhosh and children Siddharth and Sangeeth.
