
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A holiday was declared for educational institutions in six districts tomorrow in the wake of a heavy rainfall warning in the state. The district collectors declared a holiday for educational institutions in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Wayanad, Kasaragod and Kannur districts. The institutions operating relief camps in Thrissur will also be closed.
Pathanamthitta
In the wake of a red alert today and an orange alert tomorrow, the district collector announced that educational institutions, including Anganwadis and professional colleges in the district be closed tomorrow.
Alappuzha
Due to waterlogging in various parts following the heavy rains, the rain warning is in effect, and relief camps are being operated in various schools. District Collector Shaji V. Nair announced that all educational institutions, including professional colleges in the district, Anganwadis and tuition centres, will be closed tomorrow(Friday). There will be no change to the pre-scheduled public examinations.
Kottayam
In the wake of the announcement of a red alert today in Kottayam and an orange alert tomorrow, a holiday has been declared for all educational institutions in the district tomorrow. The holiday applies to Anganwadis, tuition centres and special classes. The holiday does not apply to pre-scheduled exams.
Wayanad
All educational institutions in the district, including professional colleges, tuition centres, coaching classes, special classes and religious studies classes, will be closed tomorrow. The holiday does not apply to residential educational institutions. The heads of institutions must ensure the safety of students there,
Kasaragod
Orange alert was announced in Kasaragod district today and tomorrow; all educational institutions, including professional colleges in the district, will be closed tomorrow as a precautionary measure. There will be no change to pre-scheduled university, public examinations and interviews.
