Football player dies in collision of bikes in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: A football player met with a tragic accident near the Christian College in Kozhikode. The footballer has been identified as Rijohn Jose, a player of Calicut FC. The accident happened last night when the bike ridden by Rijohn and his co-star Gani Ahmed Nigam collided with another bike.

Though all four who were travelling on the two bikes were taken to Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, the doctors could not save the life of Rijohn. Gani Ahmed, a Santosh Trophy player, is presently undergoing treatment. Rijohn had earlier played for FC Deccan, Wayanad United, and George Telegraph.

Rijohn’s untimely death comes just a week before the start of the Super League.
